Wireless Router Booster
Can a wireless router booster improve a wireless network?
If your wireless router has been setup to be an access point and it seems to perform poorly, then you may
need to use a wireless router booster to improve its range, throughput, and reliability.
Amplify The Wireless Router Signal
Wireless routers that communicate with other wireless devices do so by transmitting and receiving data packets. The signal strength from a
wireless router will decrease with distance and this may introduce latency delays in the wireless communication. When a wireless router signal is
weak, the router becomes more susceptible to interference from other close by wireless signal sources. This interference can cause a wireless
network connection to become "slower". One solution is to reposition the wireless router so that it is closer to the device(s) it is connecting
to the network. When this is not possible, then another option is to use a wireless router booster which can amplify the wireless signal from the
wireless router.
Use A Hi-Gain Wireless Antenna
Some manufacturers of wireless routers also produce wireless router boosters for their models. Increasing the power output of a wireless
router signal, will not improve the quality of the reception by a wireless device. Furthermore, if the wireless router signal is amplified too
much, it may interfere with the operation of other nearby wireless networks. These issues can be minimised with the use of directional antennas
that keep the wireless signal narrow and highly directional. For wireless devices, you can also use a high-gain antenna to improve the reception
signal detected by the wireless device to establish a wireless network connection with the wireless router.
It's The Law
You also need to ensure that your wireless router booster does not increase the signal power beyond the limits set out by government
communication regulations and laws otherwise you could find yourself in trouble.
