Can't remember or find your Linksys Wireless Router IP
Address?
Wireless routers are by design complex devices because they need to be setup and configured to work with a
network and other devices that will attach to the wireless network. To setup a Linksys wireless router, you need to know its IP address so
you can access the router's configuraton console to set it up.
What's The IP Address?
If you can't remember or find your Linksys wireless router IP address, then try any one of the following Linksys wireless router
IP addresses that are known to be used with several Linksys wireless router models:
- 192.168.0.1
- 192.168.1.1
- 192.168.1.225
- 192.168.1.226
- 192.168.1.245
- 192.168.1.246
- 192.168.1.251
Make sure your Linksys Wireless Router is powered up and connected to your computer. Switch on your computer and open your web
browser. Type in the IP address in the URL text box of the web browser and press the Enter or Return key. If the IP address is correct, you
should see a web page with Linksys on it and the setup console entry page.
Use Your Computer to Find the IP Address
If none of the above IP addresses work as your Linksys Wireless Router IP address, then you will need to check the IP address
settings with your computer.
For Windows 95, 98, and ME, click the "Start" button on your desktop, then click "Run". In the "Open" text box type
"winipcfg" and click OK. This will bring up the IP Configuration window. Select the Linksys wireless router model that your computer is using
from the drop-down list. The IP address shown for the Defualt Gateway is the Linksys wireless router IP address.
For Windows 2000 and XP, click the "Start" button on your desktop, then click "Run". In the "Open" text box type "cmd" and
click OK. This will bring up the MS DOS window and DOS command prompt. Type in "ipconfig/all" then press the Enter or Return key. The IP address
shown for the Defualt Gateway is the Linksys wireless router IP address.
